Unambiguous substance identification is feasible through the innovative concept of hyphenating High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography with Mass Spectrometry. The TLC-MS Interface 2 is compatible with any LC-MS system and can be installed plug-and-play without the need for mass spectrometer modifications or adjustments. The mass spectrum of a substance can be identified within a minute, or the sum formula for an unknown substance zone can be obtained, depending on the MS system. Additionally, intriguing regions may be extracted into vials for subsequent examinations using techniques such as NMR, (ATR-)FTIR, ESI-MS, and MALDI-MS.input:
output:The chromatogram zones are eluted from the HPTLC plate using methanol or another suitable solvent at a flow rate that is suitable for the LC-MS system. The oval elution head is employed for zones that are in the shape of bands, while the round elution head is employed for circular zones. The eluate is either directly transferred to the mass spectrometer or collected in a sample vial for additional offline analysis following elution.
The TLC-MS Interface 2 is equipped with a modified elution head and an exchangeable filter that is easily accessible and positioned in front of the valve. Compared to the previous version, cleaning is significantly simplified, resulting in a highly efficient process.
