Alignment, focusing, shooting, and the movement between the right and left eyes are all automatically executed in full auto mode. The operator can operate the device with minimal training. The operator selects a mode by touching the screen, then touches the center of the pupil and presses “Capture START.” Consistent outcomes are achieved by the TRC-NW400, regardless of operator proficiency.input:

In manual mode, the operator can operate the camera by utilizing the touch screen in a manner similar to that of the Control lever. This is especially advantageous when an operator wishes to target a particular region of the fundus. In manual mode, the camera’s movements are adjusted by touching it.
