Electromyography (EMG) is a technique that quantifies the electrical activity or muscle response by stimulating the muscle with a nerve. In particular, Surface EMG signals are recorded using non-invasive electrodes and are used to evaluate muscle function by recording muscle activity from the skin’s surface above the muscle. These EMG signals are becoming increasingly significant in a variety of applications, such as clinical/biomedical, prosthetic, and other rehabilitation devices.

The Ultium EMG sensor system from Noraxon is a multimodal device that provides flexible measurement options and high-fidelity data. Ultium EMG sensors exhibit minimal native artifacts, synchronize in real-time, and sample at a rate of up to 4,000 times per second. Additionally, they exhibit low baseline noise (<1 μV RMS).
