An enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative measurement of pregnant mare serum gonadotropin (PMSG) in equine serum and plasma. The DRG PMSG ELISA Kit is a sandwich-based solid-phase enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). A monoclonal antibody is applied to the microtiter wells, which is directed toward a distinctive antigenic site on the PMSG molecule. The coated well is incubated with an aliquot of the sample that contains endogenous PMSG. A second incubation is conducted with an enzyme conjugate, which is an anti-PMSG antibody conjugated with horseradish peroxidase, following the initial washing. The unbound conjugate is removed following incubation. The concentration of PMSG in the sample is directly proportional to the quantity of bound peroxidase. Upon the addition of the substrate solution, the intensity of the color produced is directly proportional to the concentration of PMSG in the sample.input:
