The UVP Gel Compact imager is a bioimaging system that is autonomous, independent, and driven by a cellphone. It is intended for the documentation and analysis of a variety of samples, such as DNA gels, protein gels, and colony plates. The UVP Gel Compact enables users to capture and analyze images using their personal mobile device, which is equipped with Analytik Jena's VisionWorks Software App. The new VisionWorks application was developed to facilitate the capture and analysis of gels and to provide complete control over the UVP Gel Compact darkroom.input:
