Manage medical technologyASPIRE Aspiration PlatformASPIRE Aspirator

It is not an easy task to enhance aspiration with a cost-effective hand-held, hand-operated device. Basic syringes or electromechanical pumps and systems are typically employed for aspiration:

Electromechanical systems are capable of producing a significant amount of aspiration force and volume; however, they are costly, challenging to install, necessitate training, necessitate maintenance, and do not allow the clinician to feel or regulate aspiration in the same way as a handheld device.

Small syringes are simple to operate; however, they are restricted in aspiration volume and will rapidly lose aspiration force if air is introduced into the needle, catheter, trocar, or tube through cavitation, degassing, or connectivity leakage.

Larger syringes are more capable of aspirating a greater volume and are less susceptible to force loss in the event that air enters the barrel. However, they are challenging to operate, necessitating the use of two hands to retract the plunger.

All conventional syringes are incapable of rapidly purging air that enters the circuit, enabling the user to instantly increase or decrease force without accidentally re-injecting the aspirant, or performing pulsed aspiration.
