Envirotect Limited is delighted to announce the release of our most recent product line, which includes RF Shielding and Magnetic Interference Shielding for MRI Scanners (Magnetic Resonance Imaging). This new product line is designed to enhance our already successful Radiation Shielding product line.
The MRI Scanner’s images will be distorted if specific radio waves from outside the scanner room are not blocked by RF shielding. This is accomplished by constructing a six-sided box that is electrically sealed, including the floor, ceiling, walls, control window, entrance door, and service penetrations.
This is distinct from radiation shielding, which is designed to prevent the radiation from escaping the scanner room and causing harm to the public, patients, and staff.
The RF Shielding system is capable of achieving RF attenuation levels exceeding 100dB at MRI frequencies of 400MHz. In general, the field strengths of MRI systems range from 0.2 Tesla to 3.0 Tesla; however, there are research magnets that have significantly higher field strengths.
