A specialty angioplasty balloon, the Chocolate XD® PTCA Balloon Catheter is employed in the pre-dilation and treatment of coronary lesions. The proprietary nitinol constraining structure of the balloon generates "grooves" and "pillows" that are intended to provide atraumatic, uniform, and predictable dilatation. The "pillows" are intended to deliver predictable vessel dilatation without the need for cutting or scoring, while the "grooves" facilitate stress relief, potentially reducing the traumatic effects of angioplasty.input:
