Metha®Evolving the State of Arthroplasty: The Short StemThe Metha Short Hip Stem prosthesis is a new generation of implants for hip endoprosthesis. It integrates two benefits: a circumferential coating and a minimal stem size. The implant design facilitates minimally invasive procedures.
The design builds upon the positive experience of non-cemented stems that are fixed by metaphyseal anchoring. The prosthesis concept enables the implantation of the device through the base of the femoral neck, while the bone in the femoral neck and greater trochanter region is conservatively treated, thereby preserving the bone, soft tissue, and muscle.
