Robotized TMS is a novel method for the application of image-guided transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). smartmove enables the pre-planning of a comprehensive stimulation session by establishing stimulation sites based on anatomical MRI information and functional information such as fMRI, PET, or EEG/MEG. The coil is positioned at the predetermined target positions during the TMS stimulation sequence and remains in place, despite the patient’s or subject’s head movement.

The robotic TMS navigation system is capable of establishing stimulation targets that are tailored to the unique anatomy of the brain. It calculates the optimal position of the TMS coil in accordance with the intended target. The system’s optical position sensor ensures that the patient’s head movements are consistently monitored. The TMS coil’s position and orientation are adjusted in accordance with the patient’s head movement. smartmove is capable of performing a diverse array of tasks, including the definition and execution of intricate stimulation protocols and the straightforward maintenance of the TMS coil at the intended target.input:
