Absorption dryersIn order to extract moisture from compressed air, absorption dryers employ an absorption material known as “desiccant.” Grainy hygroscopic salts or alumina are the most frequently employed desiccant materials. This method can be used to achieve a PDP of less than 3°C. (to -40°C or -70°C). In order to prevent the formation of ice in the pipes and components, it is also recommended to use an adsorption dryer when the ambient temperature falls below the freezing point of the water.
