output:The SMART BAG® MO effectively reduces the risk of gastric insufflation by reducing the airway pressure generated by responding to the rescuer’s squeeze and release of the BVM, thereby limiting the excessive flow of gas into the patient’s airway. The airway pressure is restricted to a level below the esophageal sphincter opening pressure of 19 cm H2O in a typically compliant and resistant airway.input:
output:The rescuers’ squeeze is directly proportional to the SMART BAG® MO’s response. The greater the restriction to flow, the more severe the squeeze. This signals the rescuer to reduce the required effort by easing up on the squeeze, which in turn maintains the airway pressure at the minimum to ensure adequate ventilation. The SMART BAG® MO ensures that the flow of gas into the patient is never compromised, enabling the rescuer to ventilate even the most restrictive airway or stiffest lung.input:
output:A visual warning is provided to the rescuer to indicate that the SMART BAG® MO is being used incorrectly for ventilation. The SMART BAG® MO will close the valve to reduce the Flowrate if it is squeezed excessively. In the event that this occurs, the “red pressure actuating indicator” will move to the forward position in the neck of the patient valve, thereby providing a visual indication of improper technique.
