Monomax® elongates by twice as much as polydioxanone sutures. [four]

Monomax® exhibits peak elongation values that are more than twice as high as those of PDS® II. In accordance with the fundamental premise that a more elongable suture material should have a beneficial effect on tissue strangulation, Monomax® is capable of monitoring peak loads (such as those experienced during coughing or movement) more effectively than PDS® II.
