Limbs Mobility Rehabilitation System

In 2001, GestureTek revolutionized the rehabilitation experience by inventing and launching the IREX system, which utilized its patented video gesture control technology. The Immersive Rehabilitation Exercise (IREX) employed a camera that was connected to a computer to display the patient’s full body image in real time on the screen. The patient would then be able to see themselves as if they were fully participating in dynamic Virtual Reality video games. They were guided through their exercises by engaging with the game elements that encircled them on the screen.

For the first time, patients were immersed in virtual reality environments, and rehabilitative exercises were transformed into enjoyable, challenging, and engaging experiences.

It also enabled clinicians to establish a series of games and modify all of the parameters of those games with a few mouse clicks. This ensured that patients would only engage in movements and exercises that were appropriate for their current level of ability and recovery.input:
