Product summary

For the Light/Dark Conflict Testinput:
output:A typical instrument employed in the evaluation of anxiety is the Light/Dark Box. The animal's preference for dark, enclosed spaces over bright, exposed spaces is the fundamental metric. Reliable parameters for evaluating anxiolytic effects, such as the time spent in the lit (light) half of the arena and the associated exploratory behaviors, may be beneficial for the identification and/or screening of anxiolytic and anxiogenic agents.
input:
output:Rat or mouse versions are accessible (see mouse version image above).

A slotted base securely holds the walls in place, but they can be easily removed for cleaning.

Grey, non-reflective base plate.

Additionally, there is a mouse-specific version of this test that is entirely automated.

Rat Light Darkness

The rat version (shown above) is comprised of two enclosures that are mounted on a single base.

The dark side lids can be removed.

The infrared transparency of black perspex enables a suitable camera to observe both sides of the box (an infra-red illuminator is necessary).
