The central data acquisition toolbox for Malvern Panalytical’s multipurpose XRD instruments is Data Collector. Data Collector assists in the configuration of experiments to achieve optimal results, whether it is for the purpose of conducting a fundamental powder diffraction experiment, in situ diffraction to investigate phase changes, or the examination of thin films, nanomaterials, or solid objects.

One consistent workflow for measurements in 0D, 1D, 2D, and 3D

The Malvern Panalytical Empyrean, X’Pert³ MRD (XL), and X’Pert³ Powder platforms offer a variety of applications, including phase identification and quantification, small- and wide-angle X-ray scattering, pair distribution function, computed tomography, and various thin film analysis techniques. A single workflow that is logical, unambiguous, and consistent across all of these applications is provided by Data Collector. The transition from point or line detector applications to area detector measurements does not necessitate the execution of distinct data acquisition software packages; it can be accomplished entirely within Data Collector.input:

Advanced features are included in Data Collector to assist in the establishment of the appropriate experiment, which in turn generates the desired results. A library of predefined measurement routines for theta-2theta scans, 2theta-only scans, and omega-2theta scans is included in Data Collector. The Data Collector facilitates the effortless programming and automatic optimization of sample positioning, regardless of whether it is phi, chi, X, Y, or Z.

In addition, the batch programming capabilities of Data Collector enable the convenient establishment of measurement routines that incorporate a variety of X-ray diffraction scans, as well as sample positioning and optimization.
