Snyder Mfg. Co. has been offering a self-contained Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for small animals for the past twenty years. It can accommodate one or more animals that require exceptional life support for clinical assistance. The patient compartment is equipped with precise controls and is oxygen-enriched. Humidity levels can be adjusted, and carbon dioxide is consistently eliminated. IV lines and probes for monitoring devices are accessible through ports, while portholes enable the practitioner to enter without opening the main doors. As well as the current environmental readings on the control panel, the animals that are undergoing treatment are easy to observe.

The Snyder concept of a controlled environment system is to electronically monitor and control the atmosphere, as well as to provide an airtight enclosure. Users establish an oxygen concentration range that is automatically maintained. When the oxygen concentration falls outside the designated range for any reason, visual and audible alarms can be configured to sound or flash. Oxygen enrichment is frequently recommended for a variety of symptoms and situations, including preoperative situations, shocks, head injury, neurologic disease, tissue hypoxia, and severe anemia. Using thermostatic temperature control, the climate control system facilitates twelve air exchanges per minute.
