The e-medic™ Silence ST-I computers are compact medical PC systems that are well-suited for long-term use in medical practices and clinics. They are fanless. The e-medic™ Silence ST-I is distinguished by its galvanically isolated RS232 and RJ45 interfaces, which are capable of withstanding voltages of up to 4 kV and 5 kV, respectively. This eliminates the necessity for additional external isolators. The midi PC is impervious to mechanical vibrations and shocks due to the mechanical protection of the RAM socket and cable entries, as well as the soldering of the processor, a 10th generation CPU, to the board. Furthermore, the power supply of this product has been subjected to TÜV testing to ensure that it complies with the EN / IEC 60601-1 safety standards for medical electrical equipment. The e-medic™ computer is permissible for use in the patient environment. Nevertheless, peripheral devices that are connected to the patient environment, such as printers or cameras, must either meet the requirements of IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2 or be equipped with two-level protection for the patient. For instance, this additional safeguard may be implemented through isolating transformers or isolators in the connecting cable.
