Merck's Aluspher® RP-select B HPLC column is a reversed-phase stationary phase that is alkali-stable and is intended for the chromatographic separation of neutral, basic, and acidic compounds in neutral conditions. Aluspher® RP-select B permits the utilization of basic eluents, including NaOH, as a result of its pH stability within the 2-12 range. This prevents peak tailing by suppressing the ionization of basic compounds. Additionally, the production of spherical alumina particles as a base for Aluspher® 100 RP-select B has been facilitated by advanced formulation technology. New applications in HPLC have been established as a result of the combination of alumina with alkaline eluents.input:
