The FastGene FAS-V Gel Imaging system is the most recent addition to the expanding FastGene family, which is designed for the sensitive and secure detection of nucleic acids and the documentation of proteins. This imaging platform is equipped with a powerful CCD camera, a brilliant touch-screen display, and the advanced technology of ultra-bright blue and green LEDs. The aquamarine-colored illumination is optimal for the exhilarating common fluorescence DNA dyes, including EtBr and Sybr Green. You can anticipate at least equivalent outcomes in comparison to UV transilluminators, but without the potential for DNA damage or eye and skin damage. This is due to the fact that the lower energy photons emitted by these LEDs do not crosslink DNA, which prevents it from being replicated, in contrast to short wave UV light.



The system is intended to generate signals that are more robust and to reduce the amount of background noise. The imaging area is large, measuring 26 cm x 21 cm, and the lighting is unprecedented in its uniformity. In contrast to other gel illuminators, which emit light directly from below, the 12 LED arrays emit light from opposite sides. We developed the FAS-V to be compatible with either red dyes, such as ethidium bromide (EtBr), or next-generation non-carcinogenic dyes, such as our Midori Green or Sybr Green-based dyes.
