BD Stent is indicated for the treatment of refractory benign esophageal stenoses in patients aged 18 and older.

The BD Stent typically degrades in the human body within a period of 3 to 4 months. This decreases the frequency of hospital visits and interventions.

The stent is composed of polydioxanone, a polymer that has been utilized as a surgical suture in medicine for over three decades. it is absorbable.

Radial force and stent integrity are preserved for a period of 6 to 8 weeks following implantation.

Consequently, the radial force gradually diminishes until the material degrades after 3 to 4 months.

The stent degradation process is influenced by the pH value. Stent degradation is more gradual at higher pH levels, while it is more rapid at lower pH levels.

The uncovered stent design is responsible for achieving low migration.

The stent is equipped with gold markers, three at each end and one at the midpoint, as polydioxanone is not visible under X-ray.
