InSafe is a system that satisfies all the requirements for secure needle handling as outlined in AFS 2005:7 and AFS 2012:7. The stable injection syringe is self-aspirating and features a protective sleeve that, in conjunction with the needle container, completely prevents contact with the needle. The protective sleeve that is placed over the needle before and after injection is secured with a straightforward maneuver, and it is equally straightforward to insert a new ampoule if additional anesthetic is required. The system is compatible with the needles that are currently in use at the clinic, and the waste generated is minimally increased from its current level. The injection syringe is equipped with a small disposable adapter, which is where the needle is inserted in the standard manner.
