DESCRIPTIONCardioMed's aortic root cannulae facilitate the simultaneous aspiration of air and the delivery of cardioplegic solution through the aortic root, thereby preventing coronary artery embolization. Aortic root cannulae are available in both adult and pediatric versions, and they are a valid aid in open-heart surgery. The adult model of this device is equipped with a second, distinct lumen that enables the extraction of air from the aortic root following the release of the aortic cross-clamp.
