In addition to appropriate immobilization (plaster cast, harness, external setting device), the Bioresorbable Pin is indicated for the stabilization of metatarsal and phalangeal osteotomies during the treatment of hallux valgus.PROPERTIES

The pin degradation kinetic is designed to commence at the conclusion of the natural bone healing process.

Pins are stable for 8-10 months following implantation, which enables bone stabilization during the healing process. In a maximum of four years, the pins are hydrolyzed in situ and completely replaced by bone.
