The software component of the Panlab PheCOMP system, Compulse, is intended to evaluate compulsive behavior in rodents.input:
output:This software is capable of monitoring up to 12 PheCOMP cages for the purpose of data acquisition, storage, and analysis. A wide variety of tests related to Food & Drink Intake studies can be performed with the optimal flexibility of setting up to four external units for food or drink by cage (user-defined combination and name).
In real-time, the data acquisition process displays the evolution of food and drink intake consumption, beams break activity, rearing, and current animal position. The data are stored in two data files: the MTB file, which is opened from the Compulse software for Intake & Meal Pattern Analysis, and the TAC file, which is opened from the Actitrack software for Global Activity, Tracking & Rearing Analysis.
A robust analysis module offers tables that calculate the total and accumulated intake for each dispenser in each cage, in addition to all the standard data required for meal pattern analysis. The user establishes the analysis window and subinterval. Additionally, data may be represented graphically. The tables and graphs are readily exportable in Excel and BMP formats, respectively.input:
