Product summary

The MC1000 Ion Sputter Coater is a sample preparation instrument designed for use in conjunction with a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The MC1000 is intended to deposit a thin metal coating, such as platinum (Pt), gold (Au), platinum-palladium alloy (Pt-Pd), or gold-palladium alloy (Au-Pd), on the surface of a sample to render it electrically conductive and prevent charge accumulation during SEM observation. The LCD touch screen control allows for the adjustment of the metal deposition's thickness, which ranges from a few nanometers to tens of nanometers. A maximum of five processing conditions may be retained.input:
output:The MC1000 operates through a magnetron electrode, which involves the incorporation of a magnet into the target (negative electrode) to produce a magnetic field that is perpendicular to the electric field on the target surface.. This reduces specimen damage caused by irradiation with fast-moving particles, including reflected ions, and enables the application of a coating with a high granularity (smaller-diameter particles).input:

output:The average particle size is reduced, and specimen damage is reduced by the magnetron-type electrode. An optional chamber is available for samples with a diameter of up to 6 inches (150 mm).input:
output:An optional spacer is available for samples that are up to 1.75 inches (45 mm) in height.Main valve to maintain vacuum in the chamber when it is not in use
