Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor

General Information

With a 7% accuracy, the Columbus Instruments’ Non-Invasive Blood Pressure (NIBP) Monitor can monitor systolic, diastolic, and mean blood pressure, as well as heart rate, in one to eight rats or mice. The NIBP employs two distinct cuffs and consistently monitors the fluctuations in systolic, diastolic, and mean blood pressure. Each measurement is non-invasive. The initial cuff, which is situated in close proximity to the tail base, is employed for arterial occlusion, while the second cuff, which is situated lower than the first cuff, is employed to detect arterial pulsation. The user has the ability to arrange the timing of measurements for each animal. The blood pressure measurement cycle for an animal is completed in 16 seconds. Subsequent measurements may be scheduled at intervals of 30 seconds. input:
output:The NIBP is entirely automated, and the results are displayed on the screen. They can be printed or saved to a file as numerical pressure values in mmHg, as well as graphical representations of the pulsation sensor signal and a graph of the occlusion sensor’s ascending and descending pressure. The user is given the opportunity to review the results by displaying signals from both cuffs after the measurement is complete. They can then decide whether to accept or reject the measurement.
